Sometimes things just don't make sense to me.

Like pay scales.

I am for a minimum wage.

I would raise it.

But, I gotta' tell ya', I am also for a  maximum wage.

I would lower it.

Big. Time.

Why should ANYONE make the kind of money that some business, sports, entertainment, etc. folk make while those who clean their toilets, etc. make hundreds of  times less?

I know the free market is what America is build upon.   I understand that sports can be swell.  I love the creative arts.

For example, I would HATE if the arts went away and I would advocate....and pay...to keep them here.

BUT. I. WOULD. BE. BEREFT. IF. NO. ONE. CLEANED. PUBLIC. TOILETS.

I have been places where they have had none of the things listed above.

I bartered and bought.  I played soccer with kids.  I sang and danced with people.

I cleaned the toilets.

If I had to pick who I would pay when I go back, it would be the one cleaning the toilets.

Big. Time.

I paid $1 to use this toilet.

Get my point?

So, the way we do it just doesn't make sense to me.

I would think God would be appalled.

In my little meandering world I would have a higher minimum wage with a lower maximum wage.

The person selling whatever and the man kicking the ball and the lady singing on stage would get their due.

But so would the person cleaning their toilets.

Which is why when I am in a restaurant or a hotel or a mall or an amusement park or anywhere where there is a public toilet and someone is cleaning it, I offer a most sincere thank you.

Honestly, I believe THESE are the persons who deserve  (pun intended, fellas') a
 standing ovation!
