"Wisdom is a disposition to find the truth coupled with an optimum judgement as to what actions should be taken."

Yep. What that says.

Wrapped in prayer.

That's being wise.

And wise is way cool.

I think one of the highest compliments one might be given is to be thought of as 'wise'.

It is so very easy to just say 'stuff', just 'judge', just throw out whatever nonsense is hopping in one's head...or, worse yet, repeating nonsense from someone else's head...or FaceBook post ...or whatever!!!

Wisdom, however, takes time.

And TRUTH.

It takes digging deeper than the moment.

Digging deeper than ME!

To the God IN me.

It is when I consider the situation.  When I consider the people connected to the situation.  Consider how my words or actions might impact those people and that situation.

If I am 'wise', I look back and learn from similar times so that NOW can be better than THEN.

Wisdom uses today to glance back at yesterday long enough to make a better tomorrow.

Reread that mouthful.

Wisdom uses today to glance back at yesterday long enough to make a better tomorrow.

Now, add FOR ALL.

Wisdom is about you and me and he and she...

...and THEM!

Wisdom is about US.

ALL of God's US.

Wisdom knows Truth rises so finding it sooner rather than later is a good thing.

Wisdom knows leaning into that Truth can bring healing.

Wisdom knows sharing that Truth lovingly and honestly can bring wholeness.

After all, that is what wisdom seeks.

Healing. Wholeness. Goodness.

From Yesterday.  Into Today.  Through Tomorrow.

for me. For You. For US.

                                                   ALL of God's US!

Well, you were certainly very "wise" at 5:00 this morning Cheryl. :)
I love everything you write. This is one of my favorites. I wish you would write a book.
I love sharing your "wisdom" for devotions in Staff/Parish Relations and our Stained Glass Class at Chapel Hill every Tuesday night.
Happy New Year to you and your delightful family.
