Just thought I would followup on the whisper theme from my last blog.

I keep thinking of 'horse whisperers".

These are persons who calm and train horses by using gentle speech and methods, finding that connection that exists between creatures and building on that.

Of course, there are many ways to train a horse or any animal...and I certainly cannot speak to this with any authority... BUT I find the comparison helpful in describing what I meant about whispering in response to the 'shoot and shout' of this world today.

I understand that in the face of the 'shoot and shout', one VERY natural response is to shoot and shout back.

I get it.

Another response is to cover ones ears, run and hide and just hush.

I get that too.

Unfortunately, the first response makes us a part of this tyrannical TOUGHNESS.

The other allows the tyrannical toughness to reign.

What if, in the face of it all, when we hear what we firmly disagree with, we decide now together to respond gently but firmly...EVERYTIME ...wherever we may be...with simple spoken STRENGTH?!?

Quietly, firmly stating our thoughts because we ARE connected, whether we like it or not, and we believe in the power of that connection and building on it.

That is what the horse whisperer does....and keeps doing....until it works.

Of course, there are horses that will never be tamed.

And there are persons who will never be silenced.

As I said in the earlier blog, I AM in the minority...

....but, it is worth it to me to ponder the idea that in a culture that chooses shootin' shoutin' TOUGH guys, I can softly speak STRONG.

I can be a world whisperer!

Psst...

...world whisperers needed!
